Why do people paint different things?
Why do I paint the things I do?
I feel a certain calmness within when traveling. As a Tour Guide in Iceland I get to see the beautiful country all year round. In amazing light, weather, seasons and conditions.
I experience this kind of calmness all the time , even though I have seen the sights many times before.
I think that this may be one of the reasons for painting, wanting to somehow put that feeling on the canvas. The process of painting itself is not calm, but a war. I hope that the result/ the finished painting itself will represent this feeling of my love for nature.
